Tracy advances to candidacy!

On September 27th, Tracy passed her qualifying exam with flying colors. Her committee members were Lukas Tamm, David Cafiso, Owen Pornillos, and Isabelle Derre.

Ji receives an Ingrassia Family Echols Scholars Research Grant

Ji received a $2,000 Ingrassia Family Echols Scholars Research Grant that will support her independent research in our laboratory.

Nicole Swope recieves NSF Graduate Research Fellowship

Nicole has been awarded a 2017 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. “The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions.”  She is one of six UVA students to receive the award this year.
